Welcome to Black Safari! Founded in 2018 when I was 11, Black Safari
was created when I felt there was a gap in the market for trusted locally hand poured candles that actually smell nice. I felt that sustainability, affordability, and genuinely nice products were things that were lacking in other small businesses, selling similar products. It hit me that these values could be found, but just never all together, and I wanted to change that. Safety and well-being have been a top priority from the start with all of my products being vegan friendly and chemical free. As someone who knows what its like to have family members with health issues, I became aware of just how many germs and other harmful things can be transmitted through the air, and how certain candles can contribute to that. For all Black Safari products, I ensure that I only use Australian ingredients of the highest quality. For me, it seemed candle buyers were uninformed as to the risks associated with burning certain candles, and again, this was something i aimed on changing. 

Fun fact! Every Black Safari candle has over 10 components to it, and all of them have been carefully chosen to ensure authenticity and high-quality products. To start off, our candles are free from baddies which means no sulphates, or parabens, and any other harmful chemicals. Our candles are also cruelty free, and none of the ingredients are derived from animals, which means they are suitable for vegans too! To dive right into each component of one of my candles, lets start with the wax! Our wax is 100% natural, mainly derived from sustainably sourced soybeans, with natural additives, produced in Melbourne. Our wicks are made from premium cotton, with paper cores to ensure sturdiness. Our fragrances are made from mainly natural essential oils, some blended with synthetic materials also to optimize your candle experience.
